The 7th International Conference on Nanomanufacturing

The 7th International Conference on Nanomanufacturing (nanoMan2021) was successfully held in Xi'an, China from November 17 to 19, 2021. The conference was organized by Xi'an Jiaotong University and sponsored  by the International Society of Nanomanufacturing (ISNM). Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) Professor Zhuangde Jiang from Xi'an Jiaotong University was the chairman of the organizing committee. Professor Shuming Yang and Professor Ryutaro Maeda from Xi'an Jiaotong University were the co-chairmen of the organizing committee. The conference included 8 keynote speeches and 14 invited presentations as well as 63 oral presentations and 16 posters. Around 100 professors and researchers from various universities, research institutes, and industry participated in the on-site event held at Shaanxi Hotel. More than 33,000 people attended the conference online due to the restrictions caused by the Covid-19.

The opening ceremony

The opening ceremony was held in the morning of the 18th, which  started with the welcome speech from the organizing committee chairman, Professor Zhuangde Jiang.

Professor Dongming Guo (former president of ISNM), professor Zhuangde Jiang (the vice president of ISNM), professor Jianrong Tan (member of CAE), professor Jianbin Luo (member of CAE), professor Fengzhou Fang (the chairman  of nanoMan), and professor Wei Gao (the secretary general of ISNM) attended the on-site event, chairing the keynote sessions or delivering the keynote speeches. During the conference, the latest research progresses and development trends in the field of nanomanufacturing technology were comprehensively discussed. 

Keynote speeches

The 8 keynote speeches covered the main areas of manufacturing of sensing technology, atomic and close-to-atomic scale manufacturing (ACSM), digital manufacturing, smart manufacturing, biomanufacturing, sustainable manufacturing, additive manufacturing, and metrology , and were delivered by distinguished professors  namely Zhuangde Jiang (Xian Jiaotong University, China), Kazuto Yamauchi (Osaka University, Japan), Kenneth A. Dowson (University College Dublin, Ireland), Jianrong Tan (Zhejiang University, China), Jianbin Luo (Tsinghua University, China), Duncan McFarlane (University of Cambridge, UK), Honglong Chang (Northwestern Polytechnical University, China), and M.Alkan Donmez (National Institute of Standards and Technology, USA), respectively.

Sub-venues reports

The International Conference on Nanomanufacturing (nanoMan) was first held in 2008 and has become the leading conference in the area of nanomanufacturing. The successful convening of nanoMan2021 conference has further promoted international communication and cooperation in this vital emerging field.
