Professor Kenneth A. Dawson

University College Dublin,Ireland

Prof Kenneth A. Dawson is recognized as a leading thinker on the principles governing the interactions of nanoscale entities with living organisms, and implications for bionanoscience. He is founder of the modern conception of the ‘protein (biomolecular) corona’ responsible for the biological identity of engineered nanoparticles. Professor Dawson is the current and founding Director of the Centre for Bionano Interactions (CBNI). His work aims to obtain a fundamental mechanistic understanding of the interactions between nanostructures and living systems. He is the discoverer of the ‘biomolecular corona’ effect, and related ideas in situ at the interface between nanoscale objects and biological processing machinery, for which he was awarded the US National Academy Cozzarelli Prize. He has also been awarded Richardson Prize and Medal of Royal Society of Chemistry, Sloan, Dreyfus, IBM Foundation prizes, and has been distinguished visiting Professor by Chinese Academy, Brazilian Science Foundation, the Canon Foundation.

Professor Zhuangde Jiang

Xi'an Jiaotong University, China

Prof. Jiang is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor of Xi'an Jiaotong University, doctoral supervisor and a guest professor at the University of NewSouth Wales in Australia.

Once the Vice President of Xi'an Jiaotong University, at present, JIANG Zhuangde is aCommittee Member of the National People's Congress Standing Committee and the NationalPeople's Congress Environmental and Resources Committee, President of theShaanxi Association for Science and Technology, Director of the Institute ofPrecision Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Vice Chairman of the ChineseSociety of Micro-Nano Technology and the China Education Association ofMachinery Industry, Executive Director of the Chinese Society for Measurement, and Director of the Shaanxi Mechanical Engineering Society.

Professor Wei Gao

Tohoku University, Japan

Professor Wei Gao received his PhD degree in Precision Engineering from Tohoku University, Japan in 1994. He is currently the director of the Center for Precision Nanosystems, Tohoku University. His research interests are mainly in precision engineering, including optical sensors, dimensional measurement, micro/nano-metrology and motion control. He acted as a visiting professor of the Center for Precision Metrology, University of North Carolina, Charlotte in 1998. He is a member of the ASPE, JSPE, JSME and CIRP. He serves as an editorial board member for a number international journals, such as an Associate Editor for Precision Engineering, the journal of International Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology. He has published more than 100 journal papers and has applied about 40 patents.

Professor Shuming Yang

Xi'an Jiaotong University, China

Shuming Yang, a full professor of Xi'an Jiaotong University, the winners of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the principle investigator of the national key R & D program, and the leader of the Shaanxi Provincial Key Scientific and Technological Innovation Team etc. He has undertaken more than 20 national, provincial and ministerial major key projects and published more than 170 academic papers, authorized/disclosed more than 80 international and domestic invention patents, and won 7 scientific and technological awards from provincial, ministerial and national industry associations. He has been selected as a fellow of the International Society of Nanomanufacturing (ISNM), a committee member of the Asian Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology (ASPEN), and an executive member of the Chinese Society for Measurement (CSM) etc. He has been invited to deliver keynote/invited talks at international academic conferences for more than 30 times, and served as the editors and guest editors of international journals such as JMS, IJPEM-GT, IJRAT, NMME, MST, PE, IJAMT, Photonics etc.
